basically sometimes instead of making up a new identity from scratch when splitting, the brain will base an alter on a fictional character. this can happen for all kinds of reasons and most of the time, the resulting alter isnt identical to what theyre based on!! we call a media an alter is based on a source! i made a little diagram about myself below in case youre still concerned
